FAQs

What is the student/teacher ratio?

Brighton School prides itself on building strong relationships between staff and students. Our class size averages 18 students school-wide with 10- or smaller ratio in preschool and pre-k. In addition, there is at least one classroom aide in every grade to help individualize instruction.

How do students score on standardized tests?

Our students take the CTP test and score significantly higher than the state average and higher than students in nearby school districts.

Where do graduating students continue their education?

Our students go on to attend both public and select private schools in our area including Archbishop Murphy HS, Blanchet, The Bush School, Cascade HS, Eastside Catholic, Eastside Prep, Edmonds Woodway HS, Jackson HS, Kamiak HS, King’s, Lakeside, Lynnwood HS, Meadowdale HS, Mountlake Terrace HS, North Sound Christian, Northwest School, The Overlake School, Seattle Arts Academy, Seattle Prep, and University Prep.

Is the school accredited?

We are fully accredited by the Cognia Global Commission.

Is transportation available for my child?

We are currently NOT providing transportation.

Is lunch provided?

Lunch is available for purchase through our lunch program partner, Wholesome Foods.  You can download the app or create a login on their website to order lunch for your student.

Where can I purchase logo wear?

Our PTO has a Brighton Gear sale twice a year – they will send out an email when those ordering windows are available! **We are also working on an online store, but I do not know when it will be ready – perhaps when the new website is done! I will send you more information when we get it.. 

Is Brighton School convenient to the Seattle area?

Brighton School is located approximately 15 minutes north of Seattle and serves many communities within Snohomish County (Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Bothell, Woodway, Shoreline, Everett, Mukilteo, Lake Forest Park, Brier, Mountlake Terrace, Snohomish, Kenmore, Woodinville).

What are the hours of operation & do you offer extended care?

Our campus is open from 7:00am to 5:30 pm. Morning care is from 7:00 am until the start of class and aftercare is from te end of class until 5:30pm. We have a staggered start & end time by grade:

  • 5th-8th Grade: Start 8:00am, End 3:10pm
  • 2nd-4th Grade: Start 8:10am, End 3:00pm
  • K-1st Grade: Start 8:25am, End 2:45pm
  • PS/PK: Start 8:50am, End 2:45pm

Is there a dress code for students? 

Our dress code is detailed out in our Parent Handbook

How do I report an absence or late arrival for my student?

If your student will be out or arriving late, please send an email to their teacher to let them know.

What after school clubs, sports or activities are available? 

Brighton offers after school enrichment clubs in the Fall, Winter & Spring. They are 8 week sessions & the catalog for these clubs is posted on our website under the Before & After School section.  We also offer a variety of Middle School sports through out the year that are available to our 6th-8th graders. As a parent, how can I get involved?

Parents volunteers are always welcome!  Reach out to you student’s teacher to ask if there is any volunteer opportunities available for them.   Also, volunteering for the the Brighton PTO is a great way for parents to help the school with events, fundraisers, etc.
